OPERATES NOVEMBER TO MARCH
Days 1-2 : UK - Beijing
Fly overnight to Beijing where we will be met by our National Escort and transferred to our hotel.
Days 3-4 : Beijing
Stroll through Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest public square past Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum before exploring the Forbidden City, the largest and best preserved collection of ancient buildings in China. We also visit the unique Temple of Heaven and enjoy a Chinese Acrobatic Show in the evening. The next day, walk the Great Wall, which stretches for some 6,350km, followed by a visit to the exquisite Summer Palace. In the evening enjoy a traditional meal, which will include the local delicacy, Peking Duck.
Day 5 : Beijing - Xian
Fly to the former imperial capital of Xian, where we will see the ancient City Wall, one of the best preserved in China. Experience a Tang Dynasty dancing performance in the evening.
Day 6 : Xian - Shanghai
Visit one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th Century – the spectacular Terracotta Warriors. Fly to Shanghai where will enjoy a dinner of traditional Shanghai cuisine in the evening.
Day 7 : Shanghai
Spend the day in Shanghai, often referred to as the Paris of the East. In the morning we will explore the beautiful Yu Gardens and the Old Town. After lunch, visit the Shanghai Museum and the famous Bund, which offers an exhibition of grand architecture dating back to the early 1900’s. End the day with a stunning evening cruise on the Huangpu River, where the Colonial Bund and the futuristic Pudong come face-to-face.
Day 8 : Shanghai – UK
Fly back to the UK, arriving home later the same day filled with many happy memories.
