Itinerary for: Amsterdam New Years Eve end London (WANYB105)

Day 1:

Meet up with your Contiki Crew this morning before we make our way through the countryside to Dover & ferry across the English Channel. We’ll then head across Belgium before hitting the cool & relaxed city of Amsterdam, where the fun really starts. These canal lined streets are buzzing with little cafes, restaurants & filled with cyclist weaving their way along the cobbles. Enjoy an included dinner before heading out to explore Amsterdam by night. Known for its colourful red light district, you’ll take a walking tour of these famous streets to see what it’s all about, while learning about Amsterdam’s history. Later, why not keep it moving with a fun night out. There’s heaps of pumping clubs & pubs so ask your Tour Manager for some tips on where to head.

Day 2:

Today enjoy a morning of sightseeing before free time to explore on your own. Shop in the busy Kalverstraat, get a culture fix at a gallery or try food from the world in the multi-cultural cafes & restaurants through the city. There’s so many places to go, from the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum & the ‘I Amsterdam’ sign to the Heineken Brewery. Take off with a map, jump on a tram or people watch before you get ready to bring in 2010, Amsterdam style. Tonight start the New Years celebrations right as we head to a funky local bar, where drinks & snacks are included.

Day 3:

Welcome 2011! Take it easy today, with a free day to explore more of the city sights in your own time. As Amsterdam is quite compact, it’s prefect for exploring on 2 wheels. Go local & maybe hire a bike with some friends & make your way through Vondel Park, or simply weave your way through the city’s quaint streets. Later, you could try some Dutch beer at a cute little café or restaurant before getting ready for your last night in Amsterdam. Tonight, we’ll give you the option to see the city from a different angle on a canal cruise. Later keep celebrating the New Year at one of the city’s great clubs.

Day 4:

This morning it’s a late start before make our way back to London where your tour ends on arrival.
